You may notice that Part II of this Ripped in 30 review has had a slight posting delay as I had visitors over for a week and barely had time to touch my laptop. I did my last day on this level the day they arrived and so was feeling pretty smug! I had ended week one with weight loss of just under a pound and was seeing some improvement in my arm muscles and a much flatter stomach. That's enough motivation to get cracking on level two!

Workout DVD Review: Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boost Metabolism

After finishing the fantastic 30 Day Shred I thought I would try another one of Jillian Michaels’s workout DVDs as she is such a motivational trainer. Banish Fat and Boost Metabolism was the DVD I chose and what a choice I made. This really is a 40 minute butt kicking, sweaty, fat melting, cardio workout. It's circuit training style without any expensive equipment, just using your own bodyweight. Its hard core exercise, effective, challenging and makes Davina’s workouts (which I love) seem like a walk in the park!

I had heard so much about Davina’s work out DVDs that when she brought out a new one I just had to give it a go. And I have to say, she exceeded all my expectations; it is a fantastic work out! At first I couldn’t make up my mind if it was a hard work out or not, because the routines are easy to follow and while I’m performing them seem to manage quite easily, but oh my goodness, towards the end I am sweating all over my floor and feeling like I have worked every muscle in my body. She is a sneaky one, that Davina!

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - Workout Diary Part 1

Being a bit of a Biggest Loser fan I decided to order myself a copy of Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred.

I love doing workout DVDs because ONE I can’t afford city gym membership prices and TWO I like to sweat and grunt in the privacy of my home. I recently gained 10 lbs after giving up smoking and would really love to shift that weight. In total I want to lose 20 lbs but I will be a happy customer if Jillian can help me lose the first 10. The DVD cover claims that you could lose up to 20lbs in 30 days, but I don’t have such high expectations!

Workout DVD Review: The Tracy Anderson Method Mat Work Out

This DVD has had some rave reviews, after all, Tracy Anderson has been the personal trainer for Madonna, Gwyneth and Shakira and look at those teeny tiny girls, all fit and skinny! On top of that, Tracy Anderson is often snapped by the paparazzi looking incredibly slim and toned and is an actual trainer well known for her unique techniques. All of this pointed towards a great workout DVD but the crucial point was…would it work for me?

I have to admit to being a little bit of an exercise freak, I run every morning, workout with weights 4 times a week, and, when ever possible I go to the gym. So, when my daughter bought Mel B’s Totally Fit workout DVD and informed me that it is a really hard workout I just had to give it a go.
